A UK software house
Built it with AI? Let's make it real.
Got an idea, or even a working prototype from Claude Code, Codex or Lovable? We take it the rest of the way: hosting, security, app store releases and ongoing support. Need help with the design or the build itself? We do that too.
Sound familiar?
AI tools mean almost anyone can build a working prototype. Getting it in front of real customers, and keeping it running, is a different job.
That's the gap we fill. We've designed, built, launched and run our own products, so we know what it takes to get from "it works" to something people can rely on.
How we can help
Wherever you are with your product, we can pick it up from there.
Got a prototype?
Built something with Claude Code, Codex, Lovable or similar? We review it, fix what needs fixing (security, data, sign-in, payments) and launch it properly, on your own domain or in the app stores.
Whatever it's built in, we'll take a look. If it isn't a good fit for us, we'll tell you honestly.
Start with a prototype review: a fixed-price look at your project and a written plan for what it needs before launch.
Got an idea?
We help shape the idea, design the screens and build it for the web, iOS, Android and Windows, often from a single codebase. You get a working version to try every week, so you can change course early rather than being surprised at the end.
Got something live?
Monthly care for live apps: hosting, updates, security patches, backups and monitoring, plus a hand when you want new features. You get on with running your business; we keep the lights on.
Want AI in your product?
We can add AI features to your app, including options that run on the device itself, with no monthly or pay-per-use bill.
How it works
A clear process, with no surprises along the way.
A free chat
Tell us what you're building and where you've got to. No code needed, and we're happy to sign an NDA before you share anything.
A written plan
Architecture diagrams, basic designs, and your hosting options with what each will cost per month. Pros and cons included.
Build and launch
Weekly updates you can try for yourself, so you can course-correct as you go. Then we launch it to the web or the app stores.
Hand over or look after
You get the code, designs, assets and cloud logins in one neat package. Keep us on for monthly care, or take it elsewhere.
Start lean. Scale when you need to.
There's rarely one right way to host an app. We'll set out the options for your project, what each costs per month and when you'd outgrow it, so you can choose with your eyes open.
No server at all
Not everything needs the cloud. Apps that keep data on the device, and sync between phones directly, have no monthly hosting bill.
- Good for
- Personal and offline tools, one-off purchase apps
- Trade-off
- No central data, so features like web access and accounts are harder to add later
Lean: built for today
Pay-as-you-go cloud services that cost very little while you find your customers, set up so the next step up is a move, not a rewrite.
- Good for
- Launching, testing demand, early customers
- Trade-off
- Some work needed if usage grows quickly or reliability becomes critical
Scalable: built for growth
Designed to scale automatically with demand, with resilience, monitoring and backups built in from day one.
- Good for
- Proven demand, busy periods, business-critical systems
- Trade-off
- More to set up, and you pay for headroom you may not need yet
Most projects start lean with a clear path to scale. Whichever you choose, it runs in a cloud account you own, so every monthly cost is visible to you.
Your idea. Your code. Your IP.
What we build for you belongs to you, and you can take it anywhere.
You own the IP
The code, designs and assets we create for you are yours, and we agree that in writing before we start.
NDA on request
Happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you tell us your idea or share any code.
Your cloud account
Your app runs in accounts you own, not ours, so you can see every monthly cost and nothing is held hostage.
No lock-in, no jargon
We explain how it's built, where everything lives, and the pros and cons of each choice. In technology no solution fits all, and we'll be upfront about that.
Our Work
We build for clients, and we build and run our own products. Every app here was designed, built, launched and is looked after by us.

Small by design
Pendragon Development is a small, independent UK software house led by Dave Wheatcroft. When you work with us, you talk directly to the engineer who designs, builds and runs your app: no account managers and no handoffs.
Every product on this page was built and is still run by us, so the advice you get comes from launching and maintaining real apps, not just selling the idea of them.
